October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a collaboration between government and private industry to raise awareness about digital security and empower everyone to protect their personal data from digital forms of crime.
The MEL continues to be a leader in the development of cyber security education and cyber risk management programs for public entities in New Jersey, and earlier this year stepped up its commitment by launching the first-ever Cyber JIF.
2023 marks the 20th Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign, and the new. year-round awareness campaign and evergreen Cybersecurity Awareness Month theme – Secure Our World – created by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
Secure Our World is here to remind us that there are simple ways to protect yourself, your family and your business from online threats.
- Use strong passwords and a password manager
- Turn on multifactor authentication
- Recognize and report phishing
- Update software
